Please join us for the Second Annual Silicon Valley Lions Club Charity Poker Tournament to benefit community causes. ALL funds raised in this tournament will be used for our community projects. The Silicon Valley Lions Club uses its charitable funds to support Eye Glasses for under privileged children in Mountain View, the Mountain View Fire and Police Department’s Cops and Gobblers Program, Back Packs for kids and many, many more projects in the Bay Area.
Tournament Grand Prize is a 50″ HDTV. Final Table will win prizes. We will be playing standard No-Limit Texas Hold’em. Buy-in is $30 and rebuys at $15 for those ambitious players who get out a little too early. The event will be held at Hope Services, 460 East Middlefield Road Mountain View, CA 94043 on Saturday January 21st, 2012. Doors open at 6pm; first hand is at 6:30pm.
We will be providing Free Snacks. We will have a Cash bar that will be serving Wine, Beer and Cocktails. Our Hope Services Branch will be serving their famous Arnold Palmers (1/2 Lemonade + 1/2 Ice Tea). All you can drink APs and a slice of Pizza for $5!. We look forward to seeing you at this years event!

The Silicon Valley Lions Club will be helping out our fellow Lions of Willow Glen again at the Hot San Jose Nights Car Show July 6-10th. This year the Willow Glen Lions will be doing their famous all you can eat pancake breakfast again and will be running the new Fun Area. The fun area will consist of casino and raffle games. Please come and check out some hot cars and support the local community.

The Silicon Valley Lions Club will put on a Family Spaghetti Supper on October 18th, 2010 to benefit our dedicated Eyeglass and Vision Care Fund for the Day Worker Center of Mountain View.
Dinner will be served at the Trinity United Methodist Church at 748 Mercy Street (corner of Hope Street | map) beginning at 5:30 p.m. The menu will consist of spaghetti, marinara sauce, meatballs, salad, garlic bread and soft drinks. Tickets are $10 per adult. The children in the family can attend for a single $5 family supplement ticket.

The Silicon Valley Lions will participate in the Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Art & Wine Festival on Castro Street in downtown Mountain View on September 11th and 12th this year.
The central menu item is pasta pockets, featuring garlic buttered flatbread, linguini or shells, tomato sauce & meatballs or alfredo sauce and grilled chicken. We’ll also have ice-cold Arnold Palmers (half iced tea/half lemonade) and shaved ice.
Be sure to stop by as you stroll past our prime location at the corner of Castro & California! Remember, all proceeds from this food booth support local charitable causes, like eyeglasses and backpacks with school supplies for needy local students, Thanksgiving food baskets for local families, and more. The Leo Club at Mountain View High School has been named a Global Literacy Champion for 2010 by the African Library Project. The award recognizes the Leo Club’s efforts in collecting, sorting, packing and shipping 1,800 books to the Emcozoni High School in Swaziland. The club also raised the $1,000 needed to pay the cost of shipping.
This is the third library the MVHS Leos have created in the region, with two others to their credit in Lesotho. The club plans to create at least one more library this school year.
